2014-2016

In the midst of a busy daily life, brief moments of free time became opportunities for me to look at my surroundings again. I often use the smartphone I carry with me to record scenes that unexpectedly catch my attention while moving through the city. For me, a smartphone is not only a communication device but also a tool for seeing the world, allowing me to capture fleeting moments hidden within everyday life.

This way of working is similar to the idea of "street observation," which focuses not on famous landmarks or major events, but on overlooked details in the city and the curious relationships that emerge between people, objects, and their surroundings. Through walking and observing, ordinary scenes gradually reveal their humor, coincidences, and poetic qualities.

These photographs are both a collection of everyday experiences and a form of fieldwork in daily life. They are also a practice of looking. Through the camera, I try to rediscover a sense of unfamiliarity within familiar places, drawing attention to moments that might otherwise go unnoticed and opening up new ways of perceiving the everyday urban landscape.
